about these photos:

I visited Tanzania for two weeks in November of 2015 for the first time. Starting off in Mwanza off the shores of Lake Victoria the weather was hot but sunsets spectacular. And then came the wildlife.

We were given the trifecta - visiting the Grumeti Game Reserve (where we were bogged twice), Serengeti NP and Ngorogoro Conservation Area - days were filled with amazing scenery and loads of animals. From big cats (lions/cheetahs/leopards) to antelope to birds to other massive mammals Tanzania has loads to offer. While the visa to get in isn't cheap ($100 USD = one year multiple entries) it's well worth the effort and expense.

From there it was onto the exotic island of Zanzibar for time at the beach, spice tours, snorkeling and visiting with the resident tortoises on Prison Island. Zanzibar offered up chances to enjoy the Indian Ocean's warm blue waters, chances to party and enjoy air con at our first proper accommodation after 29 days of living in a tent.

Tanzania, I will be back!
