about these photos:
I visited the Maldives back in August 2015. While this was a place I had dreamed of visiting, the Maldives evoked images of honeymooners tucked away in posh resorts and not really the place for a backpacker. That being said I cashed in some air miles and rolled the dice with paradise. I stayed at a quiet hotel for the majority of my time on Maafushi and walked the small island daily taking swims, snorkeling and eating delicious seafood. Although quite rainy during my brief week long visit there were a few periods of sunshine.
I also got out into the open sea via boat trips for even more snorkeling, impressed by the hundreds of shades of blue in the ocean and the crystal clear waters. The capital city of Male, one of the most densely populated cities in the world, provided a variety of sights and vistas for such a small speck of land in the middle of the Laccadive Sea.
